OUTREACH (HOME) COMMITTEE

The Post Office opened in the Seward Room in the summer.  Sincere thanks go to Revd. Dave Stickland and to the Buriton Shop Association for their perseverance in this matter.  Aside from an occasional computer failure, it has been a great success.  It provides a wide range of services, cups of tea and an opportunity to natter – excellent!

The Big Question, a discussion group for topical issues with a religious theme, was started in the summer with a quick run around a wide range of topics (too many, probably) in the Five Bells.  It has met three times since then when the questions have been:

  • Why does a loving God allow suffering?

  • Who is the church for?

  • Should religion and politics mix?

The common theme of those attending has been their inquiring minds, their faith being apparent, none or somewhere in between.  It is an interesting group.
